14 Apr THE COUCH’S
Mr. and Mrs. Couch have been dedicated Bloom foster parents for several years. They have shown a compassionate commitment to helping young children in foster care overcome difficult circumstances. The Couch’s have diligently worked in partnership with birth families to ensure that children entrusted in their care are able to safely return home. They have also provided respite to support other Bloom foster parents in times of need.
Most recently, the Couch’s opened their home to host monthly Foster Parent Support Group meetings. These meetings have proven to be a great way to network, exchange parenting ideas, and provide encouragement to one another. Although the pandemic has caused these meetings to shift to a virtual platform, the Couch’s remain steadfast in their desire to help other parents. In addition to continuing to volunteer at The Bloom Closet, Mrs. Couch is also working with Bloom’s licensing department on a new pilot foster parent training program known as NTDC. This pilot if successful will replace our traditional IMPACT training. Mrs. Couch will serve as Bloom’s very first foster parent training co-facilitator.
