The Clothes Less Traveled Thrift Shop Donates $15,000 to Support Foster Children at The Bloom Closet

The Clothes Less Traveled Thrift Shop presented a $15,000 grant to Executive Director Becky Davenport and staff at Bloom Our Youth, Inc. (dba. Bloom) in Fayetteville on November 14, 2018. As a long-time supporter of Bloom’s programs for foster youth, The Clothes Less Traveled Thrift Shop generously provided funds earmarked for the organization’s general operations and office expenses. Because of their support, Bloom can continue to provide safe shelter and support for foster children who are the victims of abuse, neglect, and other tragic circumstances.

“Because of the generosity of community partners like The Clothes Less Traveled Thrift Shop, foster children who enter into state custody with nothing but the clothes on their backs are able to obtain clean, comfortable clothing and supplies at The Bloom Closet,” comments Becky Davenport, Executive Director of Bloom. “In the past year, The Bloom Closet has provided essential items to more than 3,000 foster children from 90 Georgia counties.”

“We appreciate all that Bloom does to serve our local foster population,” comments Kevin Barbee, Executive Director of The Clothes Less Traveled Thrift Shop. “Clothes Less Traveled is pleased to be able to provide grant funding for the amazing work they do.”

The Clothes Less Traveled Thrift Shop’s mission includes “serving the needs of their community by operating a thrift store which promotes volunteerism, sharing of goods and clothing at affordable prices, benefiting qualified individuals and community nonprofit organizations.” Clothes Less Traveled is proud to serve the local community through their Grant & Scholarship programs, Community Instruction Program, and Volunteer Opportunities.
