Respite Care

Respite foster parents provide short-term care for foster children when their full-time foster parents are temporarily unavailable due to illness or travel. Becoming a respite care provider is a great way to “get your feet wet” if you are interested in foster parenting. Prospective respite care providers are required to attend the same trainings as prospective full-time foster parents. Respite can be planned or offered during emergencies or times of crisis.

Getting Started

The first step is to register and attend a Foster Parent Orientation. Foster Parent Orientations are held every Thursday from 10:00am-12:00pm at Bloom. Additional Orientation dates and times are available as needed.
