MOBA Soccer Academy Making Plays for Bloom

MOBA Soccer Academy in Peachtree City, GA, has chosen to support foster children by partnering with Bloom for a roster of year-round activities. Through the partnership, MOBA has provided financial support as well as the opportunity for Bloom representatives to increase awareness of the organization’s work with foster children and collect clothing for The Bloom Closet. “We are gracious for Bloom’s efforts to assist children and families in foster care-related situations and look forward to a continued partnership in the years to come,” states KathyPhalen, MOBA’s Event Manager.

MOBA’s vision states, “Our values of family and community are an integral part of how we run our events, youth and adult programs, and support the local community.” MOBA offers a world-class facility located in Peachtree City, GA, and their mission is to bring pre-professional soccer to the area.

In December 2017, the MOBA soccer academy hosted the “MOBA Winter Marketplace” and raised $3,000 for Bloom’s programs for foster youth. Hundreds attended the event at MOBA’s fields to take pictures with Santa, enjoy the food vendors, and bid on silent auction items. “It was the pleasure of MOBA Soccer Academy to support Bloom with our donation,” Phalen comments.

In May 2018, at MOBA’s soccer game, the academy spotlighted Bloom’s programs for foster youth during the half-time segment and hosted a collection drive for The Bloom Closet. “MOBA’s continued support at the summer soccer games helps our organization to connect with families in the area who may be interested in becoming foster parents,” comments Kristin Melton, Bloom Marketing & Development Director. “The partnership also gives Bloom the opportunity to collect much-needed clothing donations of boys’ athletic gear.” The next soccer game featuring Bloom is slated for June 21, 2018.

Coming up, MOBA has elected to sponsor Bloom in the Rotary Club’s Dragon Boat Race Festival on September 22, 2018. “Bloom is so fortunate to be the recipient of MOBA’s kindness and we look forward to partnering with them again in the future,” says Missy Johnson, Bloom’s Volunteer Coordinator. “MOBA’s sponsorship will allow Bloom to enter our own teams in the race at and raise funds to support the foster care program.”
