When a new foster child is placed in Darlene’s home, she immediately makes the child feel respected and valued through her “All About Me” poster activity. The “All About Me” poster art allows children to express themselves freely while sharing important personal facts, such as their likes and dislikes, favorite foods, nicknames, etc. Darlene uses the information provided on the poster to make the children feel more comfortable in her home.
In addition, Darlene includes her foster children in all family outings and trips. She knows how important it is for each foster child to feel like a member of the family, so she spends time with each child individually and conducts daily “check-ins” to ensure they are thriving.
Darlene advocates for Bloom foster children when needed, and submits all paperwork in a timely manner. She also provides lots of photos and updates for all the children in her care.
