01 Apr Jack and Jill of America Aids Bloom Foster Children through Annual Fundraiser
On March 17, 2019, The Fayette County Area Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. hosted their annual “Wine, Wedge, and Wingtips” wine tasting fundraiser at the Georgia Freight Depot in Atlanta, GA. The evening affair included a silent auction, live auction and a jazz band. The event was attended by hundreds of professionals in the Atlanta area. Funds raised at the event benefitted The Jack and Jill Foundation, Bloom Our Youth, and other local charities.
Last month, Jack and Jill Fayette County Area President, Eren Page, presented Becky Davenport from Bloom with a donation for $4,031.13 to aid the organization in their mission to serve foster children. Bloom currently serves 3,800 foster children annually through The Bloom Closet, a cost-free clothing boutique which is available to all foster children in Georgia. The donation will be used to purchase undergarments and pajamas for the thousands of children who come into The Bloom Closet with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
“We are committed to building and growing strong families. And our partnership with Bloom allows every member in our chapter to play a significant role in serving the needs of the community.” comments Eren Page, on behalf of Jack and Jill.
“The Fayette County Area Chapter of Jack and Jill is a time-honored supporter of Bloom’s programs for foster youth,” comments Becky Davenport, Bloom Executive Director. “We are grateful to partner with this dynamic group of ladies who have an unmistakable passion for child welfare in our community. The generosity of Jack and Jill will positively impact thousands of children who are the victims of abuse, neglect, and other tragic circumstances.”
