Gallopade International Provides Foster Teen with Scholarship and Support for Bloom Our Youth Foster Care Program

Gallopade International, a children’s educational and book publishing company based in Peachtree City, recently donated $10,000 to Bloom Our Youth, Inc. (D.B.A., “Bloom”) to provide a partial scholarship for a graduating foster teen and to support foster youth in Bloom’s program. Bloom, a Fayetteville, Georgia-based nonprofit, provides services to foster children and their families in 90 counties throughout the state of Georgia.

For 40 years, Gallopade has been committed to enriching the lives of children through our focus on education,” comments Michael Longmeyer, President of Gallopade International, Inc. “We are honored to have the opportunity to support Bloom and assist their mission to serve the needs of foster children and families.”

“Gallopade’s generous gift will give a teen foster girl in Bloom’s Foster Care program the opportunity to further her education after graduating high school this spring,” comments Becky Davenport, Executive Director of Bloom. “Additionally, Gallopade is providing support for other foster children in our program, so that they can be better prepared to thrive in the future.”

In Bloom’s Foster Care program, Bloom recruits, trains, supports and oversees families who are willing take in all types of foster children, including basic level foster children, as well as those who are medically fragile, have significant psychiatric issues, or are pregnant and parenting teen girls. On average, Bloom receives 185 referral calls a month for children in need of placement, and the organization serves over 100 children per year through the program. In 2019, 96% of foster children who remained with Bloom for over 6 months showed significant improvement in the areas of academics, behavior, and relationships. Additionally, Bloom provides clothing and school supplies to 4,500 foster children through The Bloom Closet, a cost-free boutique for foster children in Georgia.
