Bloom to Participate in Dragon Boat Race Festival

On September 22, 2018, Bloom is participating in the Rotary Club of Peachtree City’s 11th annual Dragon Boat Race Festival at Lake Peachtree/Drake Field in Peachtree City, GA. Bloom is recruiting boat teams and sponsors to participate and help raise money to support the needs of foster children. This event will include exhibition races, onstage entertainment, international food and drink vendors, crafts for sale, a kid’s corner, and an awards ceremony. The fundraiser is set to benefit four of the Peachtree City Rotary Club’s charity partners, including: Bloom, Breast Cancer Survivor’s Network, Promise Place, and The Midwest Food Bank.

Why was Bloom selected as a charity partner? “Four charities were selected representing four impact sectors of Health Services,” comments Pam Young. “Bloom represented an impactful application sharing the increasing need for children and family services for the foster care program it provides.” Bloom also participated in the 2017 Dragon Boat Race Festival, and was supported by the Peachtree City Rowing Club (pictured) and SMC3.

The Peachtree City Rotary has followed the moto of “service above self” since 1967, and the funds raised during this event will be used to make a difference for the young victims of domestic abuse and neglect. Bloom is hopeful that the race will also help spread the word about local nonprofits and their impact on the community.
