National Foster Care Expert Derek Clark to Deliver Keynote at Bloom Ball

02 February 2016

The Bloom Our Youth Board of Directors is proud to announce that national foster care expert and motivational speaker, Derek Clark, will be delivering the keynote address at the 2016 Bloom Ball gala on March 12, 2016 at Aberdeen Woods Conference Center in Peachtree City, GA. The 2016 Bloom Ball, presented by SMC3, is an annual fundraising event in support of Bloom’s programs which provide care for foster children in Georgia who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, or other tragic family circumstances.

At the Bloom Ball, Derek Clark will be sharing his personal journey from foster care to success. Clark spent 13 years in foster care after suffering abuse from his biological parents, and he is now the author of six books and a featured foster care expert on CNN Headline News, The Ricki Lake Show, and The Steve Harvey Show. Google ranks Clark the #1 “inspiring motivational speaker” out of 3 million listings.

“The Bloom Ball gala provides the opportunity for donors and supporters to share in fellowship while celebrating the impact that our programs have made in the lives of foster children,” comments Becky Davenport, Executive Director of Bloom. “This year, we look forward to presenting our guests with Derek Clark, who will touch hearts with a personal account of how he overcame adversity.”

The Bloom Ball attracts nearly 275 guests, many of which are leaders in the business community. This year’s world-class event will feature a VIP Sponsor Cocktail Hour, a gourmet dinner, live and silent auctions, and a performance by the internationally-touring party band, The Free. The gala is sponsored by community partners including: SMC3, Panera Bread, Piedmont Fayette Hospital, Coweta-Fayette EMC, Southcrest Bank, McNally, Fox, Grant & Davenport, P.C., Future Staff, and Davel Photography.
