The Bloom Closet, Bloom’s cost-free clothing boutique for foster children in Georgia, will be hosting their second annual ladies-only Frocks & Rocks Charity Fashion Show at Flat Creek Country Club on Sunday, August 30, 2015, from 1pm-4pm. Presented by SMC3, and sponsored by Chick-fil-A, Fayette Woman Magazine, Liberty Mutual, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Porch Productions, Beads & Lace Boutique, the event is open to the public and will debut fall fashion trends from local ladies’ and children’s boutiques. In-kind sponsors and model service providers for the event include: STARZ Pageants, Glamorama, Davel Photography, Panera Bread, and AJAKO.
Hosted by local celebrity Stephen Walker, guests will enjoy a stylish afternoon filled with shopping at the Jewelry Bar, a Silent Auction, raffles, and a unique “Take Home the Runway” Live Accessory Auction during the 35+ outfit runway show. Runway looks will feature stunning fall and holiday ensembles from several local gems, such as Fab’rik, Lizard Thicket, Fancy & Funky, Darling Divas Boutique, Tribal Chick, The Pink Chair, Posh & Prom Formal Wear, and LulaRoe. Guest can also look forward to bidding on several Silent Auction packages, donated by local shops, salons, and spas, and also on items during the “Take Home the Runway” Live Accessory Auction, which includes a variety of handbags, scarves, hats, and more.
During the event, there will be a special appearance by “Ms. Georgia” (Laura Smith) as well as the crowning of the “2015 Frocks & Rocks Fashionista.” STARZ Pageants will be judging the runway models, who are given a true model experience including professional hair and make-up.
The proceeds from the fashion show benefit The Bloom Closet, a cost-free clothing resource center for foster children in Georgia. In the past year, The Bloom Closet has provided free clothing and essentials to more than 1,000 foster children from 60 Georgia counties. The Bloom Closet is just one of the programs operated by Bloom, a Fayetteville-based non-profit organization. Bloom’s mission is to provide safe shelter and physical, educational, and emotional support to children who have been victims of abuse, neglect or other tragic circumstances in order to strengthen them for the next phase of life.
