April 1, 2015 2015 Bloom Ball Raises $100,000 for Foster Children Fayetteville, GA – The 2015 Bloom Ball, held on March 28, 2015 at Dolce Atlanta-Peachtree, was 11129375_10152742414776889_4565775782136507564_nattended by 250 guests and raised $100,000 for foster children! Hosted by the Bloom Board of Directors, and presented by SMC3, the spring-themed gala dazzled guests with live and silent auctions, games, and entertainment. Emcee Stephen Walker played a “Piece of Paradise” puzzle game, Larry Underwood and Lori Snyder (Panera Bread) presented a check, and The Free band dazzled guests with performances. The Bloom Ball funds Bloom’s programs for foster children: a cost-free clothing closet (The Bloom Closet), a foster parent recruitment and training program, and a children’s shelter in Brooks, GA. June 1, 2014 Bloom Asks Community to “Sock it to ‘Em” to Fill Clothing Closet for Foster Childrenbloom-closet-pg1.2  Fayetteville, GA – Everyday necessities like socks and underwear aren’t typically thought of as exciting, but at The Bloom Closet, these simple essentials can light up a foster child’s face like Christmas. Bloom (formerly Fayette Youth Protection Homes) is currently requesting donations of new socks, underwear, and pajamas, sizes baby through teen, for their free clothing resource center called The Bloom Closet. Over the past year, The Bloom Closet has provided free clothing, books, toys, school supplies, and baby gear to more than 650 foster children in 60 different Georgia counties. (Bloom), a local non-profit organization that provides safe refuge and supportive services to foster children in Georgia, is proud to announce their partnership with the Panera Bread bakery-cafes located in Fayette and Coweta counties. Bloom was recently selected as Panera Bread’s newest charity recipient of the Community Bread Box cash collection donations. Throughout 2014, Panera Bread will give their customers the opportunity to donate money at the register to assist Bloom’s mission of providing shelter and support for foster children in Georgia. In addition, Panera Bread in Fayetteville has committed to donating 24 meals per year to the foster children living at Bloom’s Friday-Johnson children’s home in Brooks, Georgia.  Read More May 17, 2014 Eagle Scout Candidates Collect 600+ Pairs of Shoes and Build Storage Shed to Support Foster Children Aycock Fayetteville, Georgia – The capabilities of an Eagle Scout should never be underestimated. Conner Chewning, 16, of Peachtree City, and Andrew Aycock, 16, of Fayetteville, recently completed their Eagle Scout projects for Bloom, a local non-profit organization that provides safe refuge and supportive services to foster children in Georgia. Chewning built a storage shed to store Bloom’s daily clothing donations, and Aycock collected more than 600 pairs of donated shoes. Both Eagle Scouts’ efforts resulted in valuable, timesaving solutions to help Bloom provide resources and shelter to foster children in Georgia. Read More
