The evening began with a robust silent auction and the opportunity for guests to take part in games such as “Flashy Flowers”, “Mystery Bags”, and a new “Piece of Paradise” puzzle game. Guests enjoyed drinks provided by Trinchero Estates (Joel Gott Winery) and visited the photo booth, provided by Davel Photography.
After the ballroom doors opened, Chad Smith of the Board of Directors provided a welcome and blessing before dinner was served. Following dinner, Board member Angie Wright-Rheaves presented the Presenting Sponsor Award to Jack Middleton from SMC3. After the presentation, Jack Middleton provided an update on the programs at Bloom, and announced that Bloom will be expanding its services to include caring for medically fragile children and pregnant or parenting teen girls. Next, Larry Underwood and Lori Synder from Panera Bread then presented a $6,000 Panera Bread Community Breadbox Program donation to the President of the Board of Directors, Jack Middleton.
The evening continued with the live auction and the “Piece of Paradise” puzzle game, hosted by emcee Stephen Walker. After a little entertainment and fun, the Bloom’s new video was shown, illustrating how children can be loved and encouraged, regardless of the circumstances that brought them into foster care. The touching clip reminded everyone the purpose of the evening. To end the Bloom Ball, a well-loved game “Flashy Flowers” (heads or tails) was played. Then, the up-and-coming Atlanta based band The Free provided an amazing concert and music for dancing.
The night was a wonderful event filled with fellowship and fun. Community leaders, donors, supporters and volunteers came together to raise up children in the community who need support and a safe, loving home. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
