1st Annual Santa’s Workshop

27 December 2013

Our first annual Santa’s Workshop in The Bloom Closet was a huge success with over 70 foster children attending. The kids decorated Christmas cookies, painted ornaments, sat in Santa’s lap, had their faces painted and shopped for Christmas presents for their foster parents/grandparents in the Secret Santa Shop.

We would like to give a shout-out to Girl Scout Troop 189 for organizing the activities for the kids and to the folks from Southside Christian Church who orchestrated the entire Secret Santa Shop, from the toys to the decorations to helping the kids pick out presents. Thank you to Don White (aka Santa Claus), the Rodriguez family for baking cookies, and to Dean Breest for photographing each child’s visit with Santa. And we can’t forget the local businesses that provided food: Truett’s Luau, Publix at The Fayette Pavilion and Banks Crossing Kroger. And thank you to Toys for Tots for filling up the General Store with bright shiny toys for the kids!

Most importantly, we thank our friends and our community of support that allow us to thrive not just around Christmas time but all year round. We are blessed and humbled by your support. We hope you have a Merry Christmas and a safe, happy and blooming New Year!
